HANG ON BAUHAUS SPECIAL

FLAT STEEL & NICKEL PLATING

For the progressive designer, the creation of a unique new chair is a signature work in which he writes his homage to past masters and his instinctive feeling for the fine balance of Engineering, Craftsmanship and Art a chair demands.

First envisaged soon after he departed from the intensive, high-octane world of world-class motor racing, in the “Hang on Bauhaus Special”, Rogier enthusiastically pushes the boundaries of all three disciplines and finds new expression for his diverse talents.

The significant impact on his work from the influential, “Bauhaus” movement that began in Germany in the early 20th century is clearly evident in the clean and fine execution of the design, its strong geometric form and the delicate counterpoint of strength and apparent fragility that emanates from the design.

It demands the viewer’s full engagement – and offers an open invitation to sit and hang out.
